Mapping the Future
Finding the Others
I am beginning to see a path forward for myself, and perhaps others, out of my personal confusion that the 2024 election evoked in me. It’s more than just my preferred candidate not winning. It portends some dramatic changes for our country and the world. About how America operates both abroad and at home. I think we can take Mr. Trump at his word.
I believe we've reached an inevitable place in our evolution as a country and a species. We have not been paying attention to our collapsing climate, our entrenched racism, sexism, homophobia, our failing education systems, our failing religious systems and institutions, our failing healthcare systems, our quickly growing income disparities, our rising suicide and addiction rates, the desperation of so many in our country and our world.
The solutions will not come from the person sitting in the White House, or the Congress or the Supreme Court. The role of those institutions is to support the people in finding the solutions. It is up to us and we are woefully ill-prepared spiritually, emotionally, communally.
I am committing myself to sharing resources here that are conducive to the future I hold out as possible, in spite of much evidence to the contrary. Most of us want a better world. And honestly, I don’t think much of the electorate really understood the ramifications. I can see now that the re-election of Donald Trump was inevitable.
I thought this short video spoke well to where we are. I can see us in it.
